Program description
Pal is a dating and relationship coaching application operated by Zarafah Technologies LLC. The planned Pal Account Verification SMS program will send only phone verification, requested resend, and password recovery codes. It will not send marketing, matches, peer chats, or coaching content by SMS.
Planned launch flow and development status
Pal's planned public launch will require a phone number but will offer a choice of text message (SMS) or an automated voice call for verification. This SMS/voice choice is not yet available in the current internal development build, which presently requires SMS verification. The following describes the planned launch flow, not a feature already deployed.
Before a code is sent, users will enter their own phone number and password and choose Text (SMS) or Voice call. Neither delivery method will be preselected. Users choosing SMS will separately select an initially unchecked SMS consent checkbox and then choose Send text code. SMS consent will be separate from any acceptance of general terms. The notice will identify Pal as a service of Zarafah Technologies LLC, describe verification and account recovery texts, state that message frequency varies with requests and message and data rates may apply, and include STOP/HELP instructions, contact@zarafah.com, and links to these SMS terms and the Pal privacy notice.
Users choosing Voice call will be able to complete signup by selecting Call me and entering the code delivered in that automated call, without selecting the SMS consent checkbox or receiving an SMS. Choosing a voice call will not enroll a user in text messages. The service will send a code only through the selected channel.
Resend code and password recovery actions will also offer a choice of text or voice. Switching to SMS will require affirmative SMS consent. Signing in to an unconfirmed account will not automatically send a text, and a failed voice call will not silently fall back to SMS.
The planned flow will be enabled for public use only after implementation and testing, availability of a voice capable sending number and voice production access, and approval of the SMS registration. The published notice will be updated when the launch flow becomes available.
Frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on each user’s requests. Pal sends a verification or recovery message only when the applicable account action is initiated. Message and data rates may apply under the user’s wireless plan.
Stopping messages
Reply STOP to stop messages from the Pal verification program. After opting out, the phone may no longer receive codes needed to verify an account or recover a password. Reply UNSTOP to this same toll free number to request that messaging resume.
Help and support
Reply HELP for messaging assistance or contact contact@zarafah.com. Never send a password or verification code to support. Pal personnel will not ask a user to disclose a one time code.
Delivery
Message delivery depends on wireless networks, device availability and carrier support and is not guaranteed. Participating wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. Users are responsible for keeping their account phone number current and secure.
Privacy
Phone numbers and SMS consent are used to provide and protect the requested Pal account functions. They are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Additional information is available in the Pal privacy notice.
Changes and contact
Zarafah Technologies LLC may update these terms when the messaging program or applicable requirements change. The current version will remain available at this URL. Questions may be sent to contact@zarafah.com.
